SUPER POWERS: Possesses an age-old coat of strength, which is also an exo-skeleton.
ORIGIN: After serving many years as the government liaison to Heroes, Inc., Col. Harris found himself in a quandry when Lotira's Cult of the Damned captured and brainwashed all of Heroes, Inc. Searching the Heroes, Inc. trophy room, he found the power jacket of Chaos, one of Heroes, Inc.'s early villains. He used the coat, along with new recruits Mercury and Staff, to save the team.
HISTORY: The Colonel's foremost allegiance is to the U.S.
Government, and he is often troubled by his team's willingness to bend
the rules. The origin of his Chaos jacket was learned, when the previous
owner Sven Bjorgenson (the original Chaos) returned to reclaim it
(issue#9). Sven had been driven mad by his exposure to the coat, and had
actually turned into the same golden substance as the coat itself. Sven
explained that the coat had been constructed from the fabled 'golden
fleece' that Jason and the Argonauts had long ago searched for.
Realizing the danger of the coat, David retired as Colonel Chaos and now
only wears his coat of strength in extreme emergencies.
