Death
Master![]() |
SECRET IDENTITY:
Cristofer DeVille OTHER ALIASES: None CIVILIAN OCCUPATION: Terrorist and demon CURRENT STATUS: Founder of the Destroyers. Presumed dead. SUPER POWERS: Enhanced strength. Also possesses the touch of death in his right hand, a deadly touch that brings about immediate death to the unfortunate victim. May also possess otherworldy powers due to his dabbling in witchcraft. ORIGIN: Crucifer was a political terrorist from Venezuala, who rose to prominence as a member of the Third World Liberation front. His efforts eventually led to an attempt to steal the lost Roswell spacecraft, which in turn caused a run in with the heroes who would form Galaxy Heroes, Inc. When the spacecraft exploded in an underground cave, Crucifer was believed killed. He would have perished if not for the intervention of the witch Lotira. Lotira saved Crucifer through black magic, and imbued him with his deadly death touch (see flashback issue#4). Crucifer also gained additional demonic powers when he died and was sent to Hell, but was in turn revived with the fabled spells of ressurrection (see issue#1). HISTORY: After his first run-in with Galaxy Heroes (see origin), Crucifer battled G.H.I. numerous times as Death Master. Angered by his failures, he formed a deadly alliance with the Countess and Electrode as The Destroyers. The Destroyers learned GHI's secret identities and used this information to murder members, their familiies, and blackmail them into retirement. Believing the field was now clear, the Destroyers stole a nuclear warhead and held it for ransom. GHI proved resilient, and stopped them. A grief stricken Vagabond lost his sanity however, and shot D.M. and Electrode to death. (See flashback, issue#1). Crucifer was dead for several years until Lotira's Cult of the Damned used the fabled resurrection spells to return them to life. (Issue#1). After another attempt to bring down GHI, the also-resurrected Heather (murdered wife of Vagabond) turned the tables on Death Master and used her newfound powers to send D.M. bodily straight to Hell. The fact that Crucifer was sent alive into the pits of Hell has left questions about his possible return. KNOWN RELATIVES: Cristofer DeVille
