SUPER POWERS: Invulnerability, adrenal-enhanced strength, flight, enhanced breathing (able to survive outside an atmosphere), enhanced stamina.
ORIGIN: On his home planet of Xendar, young Darvik Jax was the victim of a debilitating blood disorder. As Darvik lay near death, the Xendarian medics used an experimental radiation therapy to enhance his blood. The therapy worked better than expected and Darvik’s whole blood compostion and adrenal system were energized to near God-like levels. As a result of his adrenalin-enhanced state, Darvik soon realized he possessed unlimited strength, invulnerability, and the ability to fly. The Xendarian government quickly enlisted Darvik for special missions, and thus began his career as an adventurer.
HISTORY: As an adventurer on the planet Xendar, Darvik adopted the codename Dynamo and formed a small group called the Overseers. This group crossed the Galaxy in pursuit of the Xendarian terrorist Screamer. This pursuit eventually led them to Earth, circa 5000 b.c. After Screamer’s ship was shot down over Earth, the Overseers’ ship crash landed on the moon. The Overseers were stranded with no means to return home. Faced with a long wait for help, the group put themselves into cryogenic sleep, while they awaited a response to their SOS. 7000 years later, Dynamo was reawakened by the first Apollo moon landing on July 20, 1969. Strangely, his fellow Xendarian astronauts were missing. Returning to Earth with the startled Apollo crew, Dynamo briefly joined the international intelligence agency The F.U.R.I.E.S. where he fell for special agent Melanie DuBois. In 1973, Dynamo helped found Galaxy Heroes, Inc., where he served many years. In 1990, Screamer resurfaced (still alive) and the combined forces of GHI and the Mighty Maulers chased her into the Sound Dimension where they were trapped for the six years. Dynamo recently returned to active duty, following his release from the Sound Dimension. Following his return to Earth, Dynamo went to propose to his love Melanie DuBois (special agent for the F.U.R.I.E.S.) only to her learn she had married his old friend Partisan.(issue#12).
