ORIGIN: Fresh out of law school, Elaina Valdez was establishing her own practice in San Francisco, when she was approached by the So-Lan gang about providing them legal representation. Elaina felt she had no choice but to do as she was told, until a seriously T-Bird (aka Tony Santini) arrived at her door one evening. Elaina nursed the stranger back to health, and was inspired by his tales of undercover crime-busting. Taking his lead, Elaina donned a mask and drove the So-Lan gang out of her neighborhood. Soon after, she became a secret partner to T-Bird, using her lawful public image to cover his covert ‘wiseguy’ activities.
HISTORY: Long time partner of T-Bird, with whom she also became romantically involved, Elaina’s greatest heartbreak came when she was unable to use her lawyer skills to clear him of murder charges. While T-Bird has been serving his fifteen year sentence, Elaina has been awaiting his release hoping that they will marry. After spending the last six years trapped in the Sound Dimension, Elaina has recently returned home to Earth (see issue #6).
