ORIGIN: Cristofer was in pursuit of his missing twin brother, Crucifer, when he located him at the witch Lotira's castle. There, Cristofer learned that Crucifer had been transformed into the arch-villain DeathMaster. Crucifer attempted to murder Cristofer with his death touch, but due to their identical genetic structure, Cristofer did not die. Instead, he mutated and acquired the ability to move at over 300 mph. Cristofer soon adopted the costumed identity of Mercury, and used his power to continue his pursuit of DeathMaster.
HISTORY: Mercury joined the team a year ago, during Heroes, Inc.'s epic battle with the arcane witch, Lotira, and her Cult of the Damned. He, along with Staff, were recruited after the regular team had been abducted and brainwashed. During their recent second battle against the combined forces of DeathMaster and Lotira, it was revealed that Mercury is the twin brother of DeathMaster. Later, DeathMaster used his newly-enhanced warlock powers to transform his brother into a donkey. The long-term effects of this transformation are not yet known.
