SUPER POWERS: Ability to bend and manipulate all lightrays in the visible spectrum. Later, Stargazer developed this into the ability to create low-grade illusions.
ORIGIN: An astronomer on his home planet, Xendar, Astindav was on a space mission to document a passing comet. His ship passed through the comet's tail, and Astindav was exposed to strange radiation. Later, Astindav discovered he had the ability to create wondrous displays of color and light.
HISTORY: Stargazer traveled to Earth in pursuit of a Xendarian terrorist. Unable to return to his home planet, and after spending seven thousand years in cryogenic sleep on the moon, he met and joined Galaxy Heroes, Inc. At this time he also adopted the civilian guise of Austin Davids. While his power was not very useful incombat, his girlfriend Kara Stephens (aka Nuclear Witch) helped him to refine it to simulate illusion-casting. Unfortunately, this heightened use of his power caused it to burn out, so he retired to civilian life. Later, during GHI's first battle with Lotira's Cult, Austin was kidnapped and murdered. The full details of his death have not yet been revealed, however Kara has experienced a repressed memory wherein she herself may have been Austin's killer, while she was brainwashed by Lotira.(See issue #6).
