SECRET IDENTITY: Richard Blaine OTHER ALIASES: None CIVILIAN OCCUPATION: Police Detective CURRENT STATUS: Evolved to a higher plane of existence. SUPER POWERS: Heat emission, flame throwing, flight, intangibility, telepathy. ORIGIN: As a young boy in Germany in 1943, Richard and his family were taken to the death camps at Auschwitz because of their Jewish lineage. At Auschwitz, a stranger gave Richard an ancient copy of the Cabal which included an unknown, long missing section; this section of the Cabal spoke of an Angel of light who helped lead slaves to freedom in ancient Egypt. When Richards parents were taken away to be executed, a despondent Richard called upon this Angel of light, who appeared to him and gave him two magic bracelets. Touching the bracelets together, young Richard was transformed into the ethereal spirit Sun God. Using his new powers, Richard was able to free many of the prisoners from the death camp and lead them to freedom. Sadly, Richard was too late to save his own parents, and Hitler soon re-activated the operations at Auschwitz. Heart-broken over the fate of his parents, Richard went to live with his Uncle Avrahm in America, packing away the magic bracelets seemingly forever. Years later, as an adult police detective in San Francisco, Richard got in over his head during a mob investigation. Detective Blaine was kidnapped by the Mafia, and awaiting certain death, when he was again visited by the Angel of light, who returned his magic bracelets. Transforming once again into Sun God, Richard freed himself and began a long career as a crime fighter. HISTORY: Sun God helped found Galaxy Heroes, where he served many years. Sun God was also often aided by his son Trevor, who was also gifted with magic bracelets and adopted the guise of Sunbeam. When Sunbeam was mortally wounded by the Living Meteor, Sun God gave his life-force to save his sons life. Trevor became the new Sun God II and Richard evolved to a state of pure light, leaving our plane of existence to reside with the Angels of light.
